Time Management: how to be happier!

/From Tina/

The girl and the notebooks

I've been passionate about notebooks, organizers, and lists since I was little. I probably have over 20 notebooks and various lists that I keep: where we've gone on vacation over the years, what our budget was, thoughts and ideas that I don't want to forget, a child's diary, my diary, a workbook and what not. That's why now I'm telling you about Time Management: how to be happier!

The power of planning

The truth is that I believe in the power of managing and planning our time. I believe that if we planned out most of our daily lives and our week, We will be happier and calmer and will actually be able to get a lot more tasks done . Because if we don't have a plan, we act very chaotically and this actually eats up our time and only leads to tension and stress.

Of course, I don't think we should turn time management into something that leads to even more stress and frustration that we can't cope. This doesn't have to be done at any cost, but at the same time we can introduce small changes in our lives and create new habits, which we can gradually build on and help us control the day better and more fully.

“If you control your time, you control your life,” Alan Lacan (world-renowned time management expert)

The first step

is to determine your goals , if you have a goal, you have a direction and you can organize your schedule much more easily. A goal is like a lighthouse in the sea , even if you get lost or it's very stormy, you always have a light in front of you that helps you find your way. You can set a goal for the year or a main goal in life. (for example, helping people, participating in volunteer initiatives, or developing a business).

Then comes

THE PLAN. What works best for me is having a plan for the month, I even call it "theme of the month" . My theme for January is restart , to start the year clean. To do this, I examine every corner from our home and I sort the things we don't use so I can give them away or find a better use for them. But I'll tell you about that in another article.

To-do list

So you have a theme of the month and then you do daily to-do list. For him, the most important thing is Don't overwhelm it , don't set too many unrealistic tasks. Mark down one or a maximum of three main tasks for the day to complete and a few secondary ones, which if you manage to fit in will be an added bonus.

When we want to accomplish too many things during the day, we almost always end up It turns out that we haven't even finished halfway and we feel unsatisfied, nervous, and the whole day has been one continuous rush and tension.

When we have one or two main tasks and complete them, we are happy and calm and can assess what else we need to do from our additional tasks. You will probably ask me here, okay, but I have to do so many things, how can I do it when I only have one or two tasks a day?

I'm telling you right now. delegate and/or share. No coincidence We are not alone, we live in a society, we have family, friends, a loved one by our side . I'm not saying that we should burden them with everything, but if today you have decided to wash the floor or clean out the refrigerator, you can safely ask your partner if he would do it for you. This way you involve other people in your life and in what excites you, and you don't stand alone, always rushing and running somewhere.

My favorite example of how important it is to involve others in our lives is when we redecorate. When you want to paint your apartment, instead of painting alone for a week and not seeing anyone, invite some friends to help you. That way you have three days to have fun together and make memories. And you know, life is short and you have to live it to the fullest, not a minute should be wasted. That's why I'm such a fan of time management. I don't want to miss a moment. .

The Great Enemy

Finally, beware of the biggest enemy of successful time management , namely: the postponement  or the so-called procrastination . If you want to If you exercise, do it the next day. take out your sneakers from the night before to remind you. If Do you have an unpleasant task? her first her (this is the so-called technique of eating the frog first).

You'll see that you'll feel better, you won't be thinking about it all day, and you'll be done with it in the morning. This is something I've been doing since I was little. I always wanted to be done with my homework or clean my room so I could relax and go out, and not think all the time about what's waiting for me at home.

Show off

And don't forget to be flexible , find your tricks, that make you feel calm and avoid unnecessary tension. At the end of the day, take 10 minutes to review your completed tasks and praise yourself. Then calmly plan the next day.

It's your turn!

Take the first small step. It's the beginning of the year, we can start 2021 in a new way and give every minute life.

Believe in yourself!
